In the 03/2023 issue of Drones Magazine from April this year, our DNeD project is presented.
Together with our partner, the Helmut Schmid University Hamburg, we are developing a drone that can place a sensor for measuring current, voltage and impedance on an overhead power line. By setting it down on the line, more and more reliable statements can be made about the condition of the power line than by a purely visual inspection during a flyover.
You can find the full article on reloading here or from page 74 in your Drones magazine.
Dr. Nils Gageik tests UAS-assisted sensor deployment on overhead power lines
The drone flies autonomously to the specified target
The intelligent velcro system places the sensor onto the power line for measurements
The system for measurements is optimized for both performance and balance
